Depeche Mode Got It Down ‘Wrong’

Comments Off

Depeche Mode has hinted their new album, Sounds of the Universe, is a return to their sound circa the 90′s heyday of Enjoy the Silence and Personal Jesus. That means a heavy dose of electronica. If the lead single, Wrong, from is any indication, then Sounds will be a stellar set.

Wrong would fit well on Violator both in musical style and heavy-handed lyrics (nobody sets a dark mood for helpless romantics better than Depeche Mode).

Sounds of the Universe will be released on April 21 in the U.S. A deluxe package will be offered in physical formats featuring a 3-disc set of the album, remixes and demos and a making of DVD. The band plans an extensive world tour, including announced stops in the United States in late summer (cities but no venues have been announced).
