Amanda Palmer Sets Date for Solo Release
by Andrew
Amanda Palmer, one half of the Dresden Dolls duo, will release a solo album titled Who Killed Amanda Palmer on September 16. The release will be preceded by an extensive solo tour and a collection of video clips featuring songs from the album distributed via YouTube.
The first clip, Astronaut, is already making the rounds. Additional clips will follow every two weeks until the album release. Palmer and co-writer/director Michael Pope will screen the entire video-series at the Brattle Theatre in Cambridge, MA on July 25 and July 26. Tickets for the screening go on sale Wednesday at 2pm through the Brattle Theatre’s website.
The track Leeds United has been tapped as the album’s lead single.
Palmer’s fall dates will be supported by the Danger Ensemble, cellist Zoë Keating and conjoined twins Evelyn Evelyn. Additional U.S. dates are expected for the winter.
